A full assessment includes:
- an initial discussion with parents
- a detailed test of intelligence which will give us an accurate idea of the child's intellectual ability in a variety of different areas
- tests of reading, spelling, reading comprehension and maths; these will vary according to the age and stage of development of the child concerned
- an informal discussion with the child to get an idea of their preferences in school, their learning style, and their perception of their own strengths (and weaknesses if any)
- a thorough de-briefing session with the child's parents to give them an account of the assessment session, and to discuss the implication of the results
- a follow-up written report
